Brimstone bombs were some great trade bait. That DeGarde was like diet Atrial. Vanilla Rye was dessert and one big marshmallow bomb. A buddy brought the JK Blanc, so i was glad i saved my CdT for that pairing. First time trying Heady and Pliny, and they didn't disappoint.

So nice. So very very nice.

Time for my year end top 5 beers list. It's not as exciting as I would like but I only drink one glass per month so I usually go with my favorites. It's more about being with good friends and sharing experiences for me these days...so here we go:

1. Pliny Elder/Younger on tap at the brewpub. Can't beat that experience

2. Pliny in bottle at Yosemite Valley.

3. Crooked Stave Batch 60 at the Mizzou bottle share. Thanks to NoCo for staying awake long enough to break that one open.

4 Beatification on the patio of a cabana on the island of Nevis with a Montechristo #2 Habana.

5. Cantillon Classic Gueze at city beer store in SF with my old friend and his wife.

Honorable mentions to Prop, 2007 BCBS, Westy 12, the 2013 Crooked Stave reserves and any other beer I was fortunate enough to taste. Life is good. Cheers.

You will have to cross the border like maca said. But yes. It's worth the effort. Especially if you can find their fruit beers like the ones I just posted, or the Thumbprint series. Their regular stuff is really good too. Especially Spotted Cow.

How much do the NG beers run?

Those bottles are $9 each. I think a six pack of their regular stuff is $7 or $8. Not sure on the thumbprint series.

I'm glad I grabbed that picture of NCol passed out at the tailgate. It'll always live on. I'm gonna try to grab some Bomb! and a few other things today after work for tonight.

Notes -
Convival Suarez - pretty meh, the hibiscus muted all the flavors of the base saison but didn't really bring anything in terms of flavor
Anna - solid/really good saison. Perfect amount of tartness and the honey came through
DB Cake - didn't meet expectations based on last years, but really really good. The barrel didn't integrate as well as last year and this years was much thinner.
Remmy's Pappy - really smooth, well integrated BA Stout
Cafe Americano - if I loved rum and sweet stouts, this would be the perfect beer
Mamouche - heard it was love/hate and I hated it. Tasted like classic geueze with urine in it


And the Haul from my buddy at the tasting who has been randomly picking me up bottles on his travels - Growlers are Blammo (Stout aged on coconut and oak) and Highway to the Danker Zone IPA

Having a quiet nye at the house with the wife 8mo pregnant with twins. Currently working on a growler of yellow rose. Gonna crack open a 2011 Black Ops after dinner. Then if I'm still conscious probably just drink straight from the bottle of Blantons. Last day of 2014 gonna be awesome. First day of 2015 gonna suck.
