Anyone been to Platypus in Houston?
Yes. There is better beer being made around town but they have a decent menu and it is a fun place to hang out.

There are also so many other breweries right in that immediate area that if it's not what you're looking for, you can switch it up easily. Holler, Urban South, Buffalo Bayou right there, then Local Group and Saint Arnold just east of there.
We're looking for somewhere that is a) open, b) serves food or has a food truck, and c) has beer that can be enjoyed by everyone, not just craft beer fans. We're in the Greenspoint area, W. Rankin Rd just W of 45. Close would be nice, but our folks like all over the area, with a handful that stay at the armory during the week.

Platypus fits the bill. Local group has also re-opened, Wed-Sun, and they have really good food and a nice good variety of beers.

Give Local Group a try. They have great food and the beer is great too. Not sure about their variety though.

Completely agree. I remember trying it for the first time at a beer thread share back in the day and being blown away.

Platypus was a hit yesterday. Not the best beer, but not bad either, good food, and a good space. I hit True Anomaly after for some beer to go as well.
Just put my first order in with HopDrop. Gonna have some beverages after my long run on Saturday.
