I'm headed to Huntington Beach for a conference at the end of February. Any suggestions on breweries/restaurants or activities for the afternoons/evenings? I see Ballast Point has a spot near Long Beach but I'm not familiar with any of the other places I'm seeing.

Brouwerij West isn't what I'd call "close" but it's in the area around Long Beach and I loved it. Bottle Logic is in Anaheim and it's, well, it's Bottle Logic.

Those are the two that stuck out to me after a quick google maps search.

Beachwood Brewing/BBQ and Beachwood Blendery are both in Long Beach as well. Extremely good all-around brewery which also won Gold at GABF this year in the Lambic-style category for Funk Yeah. Amalgamator IPA is also one of the best I've ever had, and it's not their only good IPA. Make both WC and Hazy styles very well.

Gents:

Headed up to Portland at the end of the month. Haven't been there since 2010. What's new and good up there these days in terms of IPAs? I've heard good things about Great Notion. Other than that, I have no clue. Appreciate any insight.
