Stopped in at Ruggedman last night on my Houston->Fort Worth->New Braunfels ->Houston schlep around the state. Didn't have too long to dilly dally so I just had a pint of their double, Jackhammer which was really solid. Had a tasting of the Sledgehammer and brought home a 6 pack of that. Also had a a sample of two of their infamous single hop brews.

The place was kind of great. Just in a metal shed on a lonely road just off of 35. When the bartender asked how I'd heard about them with me being from Houston I mentioned the untappd brouhaha. She immediately went into spin mode but I assured her I knew it was just a misunderstanding.

All in all I liked their beer. I think they're going to pull back distribution just a bit to make sure their house is in order before trying to push out too much.

Reminds me of a friend who had his first baby on Black Friday. I was out hunting for BCBS and ran into him at the check out line at HEB. Me: "Didn't you just have a baby?" Him: "It's cool..."
