Thanks, but no-one has proved that Walz purposely retired to avoid combat. That's mere CONJECTURE. It's just MAGA flinging crap at the wall to see if it sticks. The People in the Minn. Guard are smearing him because they didn't like him personally and/or they didn't like his politics., That happens in the military. I served with a number of guys I disliked, guys I want nothing to do with now. Do I attack their Service because of that? Hell no. A guy can be a complete A-hole and still be a great Aviator.

But here's the $million dollar question. Walz was in some tough elections in Minn for both Congress and Gov. If he was such a dishonorable person, why didn't these turds in the Minn Guard speak out then? You mean to tell me that the Minn. GOP is so flat-footed that they didn't do any Opposition Research?

It's all coming out now because it nothing but crap....and crap is all Trump/Vance have to sell.

They did speak out, a lot of the video footage that they're showing is from when they protested his election as both a rep and governor.

I wanted to, both of my grandparents flew fighters in WWII and Korea, and both of my uncles on my dad's side were pilots with one flying F-111's in Vietnam. I joined the Corps and was on the Fish Drill Team and fell in love with the Marine Corps and just wanted to be a Harrier or F-18 pilot so went marine corps contract. Unfortunately I grew 4" my freshman and sophomore year and my seated height was too small and I didn't want to do anything but fly fighters so I went D&C.

Well it obviously didn't make an impression on the voters in his Congressional District. And that District that Walz ran an won is a tough nut for Democrats. It's on the outer edges of suburban Minn-St. Paul, more rural than suburbia. If any of this "stolen valor" crap was valid, Walz would not have won there.

Again...this is going nowhere, and the more Trump and Vance waste time and energy on it, the better for us. The only people who are getting their rocks off on this are the Hard Core MAGAs who were never gonna vote for us anyway.

At least we can all agree that RVs were much better at drill than FDT. We just didn't show it.

I was on the FDT in the first few years after they were allowed back and there was a lot of hatred with the RV's and FDT.

Since we were fish we weren't allowed to see the RV's and they would purposefully stand in our way while we were quick timing down the quad to chow. It ended up with our Junior Advisor getting into a fight with a Senior RV and none of us went out for RV when we were juniors.

I had a personal issue with PMC after freezing my ass off during military review as a fish in the fall of 2000. The temperature plummeted and it was raining and we were told no rain gear, only Class Bs. Watched PMC jump hay bales and other dumb **** while freezing.

No...it was actually New Navy. I was in the Inaugural Class of NROTC at A&M. Yeah...I'm a "Plank Owner" there. Hard to believe, but A&M didn't have NROTC until the Fall of 1972. There had certainly been plenty of Aggies who served as Officers in the Navy and USMC. But they had to go to OCS, AOC (Nanal Aviators) or PLC (USMC) to get a Reserve Commission. With the arrival of NROTC at A&M in 1972, A&M became the first school in the country where you could get a REGULAR Commission in all 4 Branches of the Military.

I know this is tread drift, but I've heard people allude to the fact that they disbanded the FDT for a few years. I know NOTHING about that story. Could you please enlighten me? Thanks.

Yes FDT was disbanded for hazing in '97 when all 9 upperclassmen advisors were arrested and charged with 60 something accounts of hazing and assault. I think most of them got slaps on the wrist but two took the case to trial and the judge threw it out. They were brought back in a limited form in '01 and then full time in '02.

It was pretty cool because my senior advisor on the drill team, wasn't actually FDT himself, as when he was a fish it was still disbanded. Jimmy Stegin of Gator 2; think he flew in the Air Force for 15 years or so and is a Captain at AA now.

My pisshead year, I happened to be standing on the top floor of Dorm 6, I looked out the window and saw the RVs. This greasy pimple faced Zip pulls out his saber, points it at my throat and yells "are you scoping out the Rvs?...Uhhhh.....he could have injured me. I should have had him arrested for assault. Well that was the end for me. My Sergebutt year I had Zero desire to be an RV. I was frankly burned out on the Corps crap by then. I had a girl on another campus. All I wanted to do was focus on my studies and graduate in 4 years, move on and become a Naval Aviator.

Some guys never leave the Quad. I couldn't get the hell out of there fast enough.....and I never looked back.

N-1 & FDT here as well (some 30+ years after you though). Both disbanded at some point in the 90's (not sure if you'd heard of N1 disbanded). Came back as the Knights. I've met a few of your classmates and advisors over the years. Actually, small chance I met you if you came to an N1 BBQ around 2007 (or maybe it was 2006). Remember someone saying he was N1 and one of the first to commission through NROTC.

INCREDIBLE!!!...That was me!! The date was Sept. 30, 2006, I came back for my 30th Reunion. Hard to believe, since I left the Navy, and Texas, that's the one and only time I've been back to Aggieland in the last 40 years. Job, Family...took me far far away. I remember meeting you guys as you were forming up for the March-In...met the CO (was it you?) and he invited me to the BBG in front of the dorm after the game. I had a great time...except for the game. One of the best damn games (Texas Tech) I'd ever seen in Kyle. The lead went back and forth, we had a 100yd kickoff return for a TD. Late, we're ahead 27-24. Tech is driving, they're on about our 30 yd line, and everybody thinks they're gonna play it safe, kick the FG and go into Overtime. But I was thinking,"Leach might take one more shot at the end zone, and he did. Had to be a perfectly thrown ball so as not to be picked off, the Aggie DB had ALMOST perfect coverage, but the guy caught it for a TD. OMG!

But back to N-1. That was the first time I learned that they were now the Knights. I have no way of proving this off course, but, I'm 99% certain that I was the guy who came up with the name NEANDERTHALS. Earnie Threadgill was our CO. (one of the few African-Americans in the Corps, he had it tough, things were a lot different in 1972..Earnie served in the USMC. He was true quality person, had it not been for him, we would have had twice as many fish quit as we did. Sadly Earnie passed away a few years ago) Our first week, Earnie calls us together and says we gotta come up with a nickname for the unit, and he told us it was our task. A few of us were sitting around and I mentioned "Neanderthals". Some guys said "What's that?"..I says..."a Caveman"...a few hours later, Earnie calls us together and informs us that we are now the N-1 Neanderthals. No, I didn't come up with the hump..somebody else did.

There were 2 NROTC Companies, us and S-2 Raiders. In N-1 we had 4 Zips, 8 Sergebutts, 6 Pissheads, and 36 fish. 2 of the pissheads flunked out, we lost a bunch of fish. Of the 36 fish, there were 20 of us
left 4 years later. We had guys from EVERYWHERE. Pennsylvania like me, Virginia, New York City, Chicago, we had a guy all the way from Bangor, Maine. Most of us didn't find out we had scholarships until late in the summer. We didn't choose A&M, A&M chose us. I found out I had a scholarship on Aug 15, 1972. Three days later, my dad is driving me down to College Station. I knew NOTHING about the Corps. My first week, one of my fish buds from Texas was telling me how he went to "fish camp". I says " that sounds neat..was it freshwater or saltwater"?
We had so many guys quit, and I couldn't really blame them. One guy had a 4 year Scholarship. He went back home after 3 weeks. I think the only difference between him and me..he was from Baytown, just down the road. There was no way I was gonna hitchhike all the way back to PA. and go back to sleeping in the same bedroom I had occupied since the 2nd grade. And just quitting and being a Non-Reg was not an option. My parents could not have afforded out of state tuition. It was Apollo 13. Failure was not an option.

Anyway, I could go on and on, Thank you so much for remembering the OLD Ag, and being so kind to me when I was down there.

OBTW. I was raised Roman Catholic, 12 years Catholic School....but.
