Former Green Beret, Jason McCarthy, started a company called Goruck. From this he has developed Goruck Challenges across the US. Goruck Challenge is coming to College Station in September. I've reached out to the Corps to see if they'd be interested, but I didn't get the warmest reception.
Under promise, over deliver, 8-10 hours, 15-20 miles and a lot of beer is a rough guideline for a GORUCK Challenge. If you're ex-Corps, ex-military, police, EMT's, crossfitter, Tough Mudders, long distance runner... overall adrenaline junkies; then this would be your calling.
There is nothing in it for me, just a former student that found something that's sadistically hard, but fun. They've had a class at the Citadel, and I thought this forum would be appropriate to spread the word on for the Corps/A&M. Tonight in Houston will be my third.
For cadres, I've had army, green beret, and a recon marine. They give you a taste of what their daily regiment in training was like.
Embrace the suck. Good livin'.
