Canyon, this is what I was talking about on the other thread. If they're going to be idiots no matter what how we try and help them, let them take the beatings that come along with it. Unfortunately it'll affect perceptions for years to come, like the '06 Tech game video, even after they're gone. But I'm sure a few years down the line they'll realize that good bull isn't universally understood.

You don't understand the camaraderie that these cadets share, probably because you were some bq *** with no friends that participated in fdt like all the other losers with no social skills. These kids, yes made an immature video, but I think it could be a good recruiting tool for their outfit, to show others that if they join this A-2 outfit, then they will find some life long friends, which as a former cadet myself, is one of the most important things to me. I still get together with my buddies at least twice a year no matter how far away we all have moved.

And if you are the class of 85, what outfit were you in?

I never claimed to be class of 85, those are my son's initials, and class year at A&M. He died in a car wreck his senior year.

Just wanted to save this little bit of dumbassery for prosperity. No reason to argue with one so ignorant and inaccurate.

I will restate my position that in today's digital world, there is a heck of a lot of Corps Good Bull that should NOT be on the Internet with free access. If you don't think the enemies of The Corps and of Texas A&M will use this against us, you are beyond naive.

If you had a son in the class of 85, that would make you about class of '65 or older. I find it a little hard to believe that someone who is pushing 70 years old created a TexAgs account just to jump down my throat. It seems much more likely that you are one of the people involved in producing the video.

I also find it hard to believe that an old Ag pushing 70 would be so immature and short sighted, and use language that needed to be edited.

On the outside chance that you are telling the truth, I will apologize and I am sorry for your loss.

But anyone can come on the Internet and say whatever they wish and make up any life story. I think you can understand why I am skeptical.

Obviously i can understand why you would think that, but i just lost my temper, because i have never posted before, however i have been reading all this bs about the commandant and am frankly annoyed to the point of no return about all the people on this site who believe that they know how to run the corps. all the people on this site dont know anything...minus the two times G-Ramirez posted on here. Your opinions dont matter, quit complaining about current cadets because you have no power, and never will, to do anything!

I'm a little disappointed to see some of the lack of respect on a military forum board. Cadet, Active Duty, Retiree...the last thing anybody should be here is antagonistic; leave that for the myriad "civilian" boards. As for class years, never dismiss the "Old Ags" as being too out of touch; you can always learn something from them. (Tip of the hat Canyon)

Exactly!! While current and past cadets may get the "point of this video," those outside the Corps will not get whatever "point" you were trying to make, and from an outside perspective, it only makes the Corps and A&M look bad.

If you have the ability to see that most of the general public is not getting the point of your video, hopefully you can make the next leap to see that it will not be perceived well and take it down or at least make it private.

I think I get the point of the video. I don't understand the point of putting it online for non-Aggies to see.

Between just me and one of my peers on this board (I will let him chime in), we have:

-Almost 25 combined years of military service
-Both graduated from the Command and General Staff College
-Both commanded
-Both served in combat at least three tours
-Both served at the operational or higher level of leadership

...and could probably forget more about military leadership than you could ever learn. We're just MAJORS. Imagine what we can do in another 10 years.

I believe the point of this video was to make a creative video that all Aggies, specifically current and former cadets, could enjoy and remind them of their time in the Corps. It is disappointing to see so many old ags being disrespectful to the creators of this video and the ags who actually like it. I do know the creators changed the video to be "less homo" from their previous version.

I am not the singer. The singer is a pisshead, an outstanding cadet, and awesome person if you got to know him. We have done nothing but approach this with respect. We are not out to hurt anyone or disrespect or embarrass Texas A&M in any way. We are just having fun and sharing it with others.

I'll have to side with the Old Ags on this.
There is a difference between "disrespect" and letting someone know that their actions may have some negative repercussions that they might not have considered. It WOULD have been disrespectful to say, "**ck you, that offends me." but what I am seeing is "Dude, I think some people might get the wrong idea with that. There are some that look for fodder that can be twisted to smear the Corps that we, and many others hold dear."

Do you think that this may be the reason that this discussion has reached this level? Maybe the "point" that the creators of this video wanted to convey (however pure the intentions may be) is not being presented as clear and concise as they thought it was. The way any statement is taken and percieved is going to vary based on the wisdom and maturity level of the presenter AND the recipient. I think THAT is the message that Canyon is presenting to you.


Slamming him for doing so IS disrespectful. That's the way I see it.
