They read the meter about once every 2 years

They look at your lot and house size and plug in your water usage

Complete garbage company that is run by the west side mafia
I own a laundromat in town that is pretty new, and the water bill was the biggest shock. I called them to talk about it and they told me that the only thing I can do is conserve water. You can imagine my reaction to that one.

A laundromat uses a lot of water. Who knew?

Good thing you didn't open a car wash!

Car washes actually re-use a lot of water these days. At least the automated ones do.

Yes, that's right. You're getting sloppy seconds at Wash Tub.
That wouldn't fly at laundromats unfortunately. I've tweaked my machines as much as I can, but my water bill is still more than $2000 per month.
I'm betting you make way more than enough to cover your water bill or you wouldn't own a laundromat.

Water kind of seems like an input cost for a laundromat, IDK...
Oh, it for sure is, no question. But I know other owners in places like Phoenix that pay $500 per month. SATX has some of the most expensive water in the US.
I'm doing all I can by peeing in my backyard.

Ditto. I pee along the privacy fence so I don't have to use a weed eater...
