Just FYI, in case it helps anyone in the area:
I have to take this route often to get to 1604 and I'm eagerly awaiting the day they put in those two lanes for that awful left turn. In the meantime, I'm taking a right onto 1604 and taking the new turnaround at New Gulibeau Rd. The only downside is the yield with a short MERGE lane...you know none of those suckers want to let you in, but even if I have to wait for the stoplight for a break in the line, I usually make better time than if I sit in that long-ass line at Braun for 5 light cycles.
If I see any indication that 1604 is backed up from the light at Braun, I wouldn't do it, but it's been a successful strategy so far.
