We recently purchased a whirlpool stainless steel French door. Not a lot of bells and whistles. The beer fridge in the shop is a basic black whirlpool and it's held up like a champ in a non climate controlled environment.

We had an appliance technician come out and try to save our Samsung. Waste of time.
He recommended Maytag, Frigidaire and whirlpool.

It is late to the game, but my wife and I need a new fridge and a quick search turned this thread up. We had a Whirlpool or Frigidaire side by side that went out in July of '25, so we replaced it with an LG French door model with dual ice makers. It was a total piece of crap, and we replaced it a week later with a Bosch French door model. When it was delivered, the box was damaged, as well as the refrigerator itself. The rep came out on the 22nd, looked at it and said it was a common problem with the control panel. He would order parts for that and the ice maker and come back out when they were received. Two nights ago, we received an email from Lowes warranty people telling us the refrigerator couldn't be repaired {!?!?) and we are getting the sale price refunded in credit to purchase a new one. One time an extended warranty paid off.

Now we're looking for a replacement, and it is so discouraging to see what everyone is saying about every brand out there. If you had asked me in June about the Bosch, i would have recommended it, but now, not a chance. So, no Bosch, no LG and no Samsung, as we've had terrible luck with their washer/dryers. It is so very frustrating to have to shop for a new fridge for the 3rd time in 14 months.

Just for curiosity, what Bosch model was this? They have a couple of different lines which are built with substantially different components.

It is a series 300, model number E-NR:B36FD31ENS/01.
If you have any insight into whether this is a good one or not, I would appreciate it. It cost about $2800 and I'm flabbergasted that it is not repairable after 14 months. Thanks.
