For a second time, something chewed through my string lights. Is there a quick way to repair them because I would like to use them tomorrow night. Not a lot of experience in this area, so any advice appreciated.

The wire is likely 18/2, you should be able to go to Home Depot, go to the bulk cable area and get 18/2 landscape wire and just splice the connection where the damage is. You would need 4 connectors, 1 wire stripper, and 1' of 18/2 landscape wire.
