Howdy! We are replacing a single sink vanity in one of our guest rooms and I would love some input on narrowing the search. The one currently being replaced is just dated and has a barn door for a cabinet that has never functioned well. We need to replace a dripping sink so Mr. LoveaTm suggested we just replace the vanity while he's going to have the faucet off.

I started looking and it's overwhelming. I don't need to be cheap but also it's a guest room and would prefer not to break the bank. He wants to put one in with the countertop attached because he's not super handy and thought that was just smarter. Let me know if that's wrong?

Home Depot and Lowe's really don't keep very many in stock so it's hard to get a sense of the quality. It seemed like shopping on line was reasonable until today.

I found one I like on Wayfair, on sale for $550 which seemed suspiciously inexpensive then I realized it's on Amazon for $300 so now I'm suspicious it's a total piece of crap but THEN I found the same one on the Home Depot website for $1099! I read the reviews on the various sites and the complaints are that it's made of particle board which I found surprising- but obviously not shocking for $300.

Tl;dr: would y'all help give my search some shape for a single sink bathroom vanity in the guest room of a mid priced, normal house (nice but not a custom home)? Any help appreciated.

We found a vanity at Home Outlet. Probably along the lines of the Wayfair one you found but we took it home that day. Also bought the medicine cabinet to go with it.

You don't want particle board in a wet environment; it will turn to mush.

You could also see if there is a local Cabinets To Go Showroom near you. We just redid our master bath with them and we love them. We got a style that was being discontinued so got them over half off. Similar to RTA in terms of you putting them together yourself.
Bought a remnant countertop slab from a local granite yard for a few hundred bucks. If you're in DFW I can give you a recommendation.
