In several spots in the yard there have always been indentations along the seam where sod was initially planted.

Am I correct that fixing those mini ditches is just a matter of filling them with top soil the length of the indention, pack it down, and wait for the grass to grow through it?

Any partilar soil I should seek/avoid? The yard is bermuda in Frisco.

Depends how you plan to mow it. I assume it's a rotary mower unless you're really invested in your lawn and use a reel mower. If rotary, find somewhere that has good screened top soil/loam. I'd recommend getting your eyes on it so you know what you're buying. Most of the bags you're going to buy from box stores are going to have a lot of wood chips in it. If using a reel mower, you'll need masonry sand so it is extremely clean and free of any wood chips or pebbles.

You may be able to find a company up there that will do it all and level it for you.

How long ago? Also, how often are you watering?

It was planted late summer 2019.

Biblical floods excluded, I water more often than I'm legally permitted (once a week). I don't recall if I'm watering 2 or 3 times a week. The Rachio does most of the thinking, but I had to manually program days otherwise the Rachio would water 48 hours a day, 12 days a week.

I'd cut it as short as you possibly can and spread clean masonry sand over the areas. Use a push broom or something like a "level rake" to smooth the sand out into the gaps. It will probably take 2-3 attempts to get it where you want it.
