Guest bedroom #2 updates.

Before:

After, with new paint, shiplap, barn doors to replace the old bi-fold ones and new blinds:

Not my taste, but if your wife (and/or you) likes it, it looks well done from the pics shown. Good job.

I am in the market for bypass barn doors like that...I think you got the ones I am considering...were they approx $200 each/assemble yourself? Where did you get the track hardware?

Nice work OP.

Next project: replace the ceiling fan with something sleek and install some 4" puck lights 2' feet from every corner! It'll look awesome! You can use the wire from the fan and daisy chain it.

That's exactly what I need to do in our master bedroom. The ceiling fan is new but just doesn't put out enough light. Hope I can run wire from below. There is no attic access.

You definitely can. Worst case (hopefully) is that you have to use a long extension drill (harbor freight) and get through a 1 or 2 joists to make it happen.

That sounds about right for the cost of the doors. Couldn't find the paperwork. They were self-assembly and stain.

Track hardware was obtained from Amazon:

"WINSOON Double Barn Door Hardware Kit 5-18FT for Sliding Double Doors Wood Cabinet Closet Set Black Surface Antique Style"

Select length depending on width of door panels.

Door handles are "Easelife 10" Barn Door Handle Set". Available on Amazon.

Thanks!

Puck lights wouldn't be easy. There is another floor above so no attic access to run wiring.

Well, it looks to be identical but we ordered from a different seller on Amazon. Probably made in the same factory:

SmartStandard 36in x 84in Sliding Barn Wood Door Pre-Drilled Ready to Assemble, DIY Unfinished Solid Spruce Wood Panelled Slab, Interior Single Door Only, Natural, K-Frame

This is the mounting kit we used:

ZEKOO 6FT Single Track Bypass Sliding Barn Door Hardware Kit for Double Doors, Bypass Barn Door Track Kit, Flat Track Roller, Low Ceiling (6FT)

Oh wow, I guess someone is "offended" by shiplap and flagged my pictures. Grow up!

the product info for my link cracks me up:

  • [Spruce Wood] Fine solid wood not easy to crack, beautiful surface texture, none smell, with stable performance, good bending resistance, electrical and thermal insulation, sound insulation, durability.
  • [None Smell] Choosing a none smell door panel is most important, some bad smell wood may become a sensitizer and then cause respiratory irritation,EaseLife none smell wood would safe to use around children and pets and does not give off any odour

I had your link bookmarked already - they do look to be very similar, but yours might have none smell, which is better.

I see them now on my phone. I was on the PC earlier and saw the "flagged" notice on each one.
