CelsuisWG on dormant Bermuda

Had the yard re-sodded last year with Latitude 36, a Bermuda hybrid, and per the instructions I didn't mess with any herbicides as I was told to give it a year to get established before hitting it with any herbicides.

Over the fall/winter I was negligent in putting the fall fertilizer/pre-emergent down and got some serious weeds in the back yard. This past weekend I sprayed with Celsius WG but haven't noticed any die-off in the weeds and the grass still appears dormant. This is on the Upper East Side of Houston.

Any clue as to how long before I expect to see a die-off and how soon I can re-apply as necessary?

I'd like to knock the weeds back a good bit before over-seeding to fill in some patches that might need it and putting down the spring weed & feed stuff.

Celsius is slow (like 2 weeks). Works well though. I usually like it in the warmer temps. If they are broadleaf weeds, I find 2,4-D is the fastest option this time of year.

Gracias.

And with the somewhat cooler temps, can I stack 2,4-D on top of the Celsius to try and kill off the weeds before I re-seed the areas that need patches and put out weed & feed?

I don't see why you can't use the 2,4-D as well. I was going to jump you for using weed and feed instead of a preemergent, but then I saw you were seeding.....can't use a preemergent then.

Yeah, some patches just didn't take well for whatever reason and I want to fill them in.

What kind of weeds? I sprayed my backyard yesterday with Celsius+MSO and the big broadleafs are already withered up but the rescue grass doesn't look like it was touched. If you have grassy weeds like rescue or poa then it's going to be very slow going if it even affects it at all.

It's gonna be very slow right now to see signs of it working. I like to save it for the summer since there's no temp restrictions. Probably a couple weeks to see the effects.

DO NOT overseed since you have a hybrid Bermuda. It will never match your Lat 36. Just let it fill in on its own

I hit the yard with the 2.4-D this past Sunday so we'll see what happens.
