Dumb question but does anyone know which wire is which? Which one is positive, neutral, and ground? They are not color coded

This is for led Christmas lights I'm trying to make jumps.

Thanks in advance for the help

This is really difficult without looking at it. Does this have a ground prong on the plug? I have never seen that on Christmas lights. Are these color changing? Could the 3rd wire be a data bit?

The ribbed should be hot, center should be ground.

Plug it in a use a meter to test it.

If this plug actually has a ground, you can follow the wires back to the plug if you don't have an Ohm meter. The small flat blade on the plug is "hot" and the wider flat blade on the plug is "neutral". The center, as Marvin Zindler said, should be the ground.

Sorry for ghosting everyone. I figured it out. I'm trying to splice and run jumper wire. I think that as long as each wire goes to the same wire after the jump it is fine.

I got it to work.

Installing Govee lights. Work in progress…..

Yeah, that's looking great. I have an installer coming to give me a bid next week. I tend to do most things myself, and would really enjoy this kind of project, but I have some really high peaks on my house, and I am a chicken when it comes to ladders.

The high peaks here are tough. I get as much as I can with the ladder but have to get on the roof for some of it. Worth it in the end though I hope. Will try and remember to post a picture of it completed

Looks nice. Did you add any brackets or just going with the adhesive for now? I was able to get all of mine up except for one peak that I can't access with a ladder or by getting on the roof (solar panels are too close). I'm having a guy come out to finish that section.

I am adding the brackets that came with it as well as more that I purchased. I put them on every other light and sometimes more around corners and peaks if the wiring was loose
