high school wood shop my freshman year.

Mr. Stevens had one finger that was short a knuckle. Never heard the story.

A kid in one of the other classes (different period than mine) cut off part of one of his fingers on the table saw.

I almost hit myself in the face today with an oscillating tool. Reminded me of this thread. Cutting shims off a door that I had just installed that was two steps up. Reached for some shims while my tool was running and pointed the money end right at my face about 4 inches away.

When I worked at the Bush Library I was trimming a photo of GWB that was mounted on sintra (PVC sheets). We use a table saw to cut sintra , but since there was a photo already mounted on it, the plan was to channel the back out with the table saw and use an exacto to finish it. I had to lift the safety guard up so as not to damage the photo. The air coming off the blade caused the sintra to flutter and bind on the blade. It shot it off the blade, corner first into one of my nuts. Taking a shot to the crotch caused me to jerk and my hand went into the blade. It went down the middle of my index finger and took some strips out of the side of it. I couldn't walk for six hours and they had to stitch the end of my finger together like it was a split hot dog.
