Have a flagstone wall on my pool that has built up a lot of whitish deposits over the years. I haven't seen a good DIY solution to fix this. Appears there are pool companies with sandblasting type equipment who can address, but haven't found a vendor in Clear Lake Houston area.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

My buddy who services pools found a new calcium remover by Bio Dex he likes. Not sure if it's safe for stone though

Maybe? My only thought is CLR solution and a wire brush attachment to an electrical drill. I prefer not to go public as an A&M grad who electrocuted themselves in their own pool though

I actually did buy a cheap sandblaster and it worked okay on a small section - but huge pain getting sandblaster material out of pool.

I doubt I'm the only person with this problem, so hopefully someone who solved it will provide some input.

I know one I trust but in DFW. Here's a link to their page. It has some good info on the process, material they use, etc. Might at least give you some points to validate a vendor in your area.

Great tip.....may have found a vendor in H-town using some of the key words from the site you provided. Thanks!

There is no next time -- one pool build and 15 years of self maintenance is enough for one lifetime!!

When those blasting guys say "eco-friendly" for pools they use salt as a blasting media as it doesn't throw chemicals out of balance too much and it dissolves.

thought you meant build a saltwater pool next time

Using salt as a blasting media with my cheapo sandblaster? Interesting idea.....i may test that out though do wonder what it would do to pool chemistry.

Good news is if it does you can dilute it out with water & re balance. Good time to do it too since you're already probably using less chlorine now that it's cooled down.

FYI I build pools haha

Greendale if you need a suggestion for contractor in the Houston area let me know and I'll DM to you. He's a guy I've used many times for media blast and mastic and does a great job.
