Want to put a newer and bigger bed in a spare bedroom, for the occasional guest (yes, I realize I'm opening myself up to TexAgs barbs. ).

What's everyone's choice for brand, and from where (Houston area)?

Thanks all

Aireloom mattresses are the best. Worth every penny. However, for a guest room you want something not exactly comfortable. Enough that a guest will enjoy being there but not want to stay for long.

I'd get whatever they're clearing out at a Mattress store locally. Not a return but a floor model might be OK. Just go in there like you're buying one for yourself and get a comfortable one that doesn't cost a lot. Tell them comfort but not necessarily durability is the key. Ignore warranty (at least the long term part of it) because it will run out long before the mattress' life is over if it will be used as you say.

Honestly, most people put their old, worn mattress into their guest room. If you're buying a new one, its hard to go wrong with anything.

Where you located? We're in Houston area and went with Texas Mattress Makers and have loved it for past 3 years. Very affordable and locally made

From the post here and elsewhere I think we're going to give TX Mattress Makers a look
