Anybody have any experience with them? Looking at replacing our current Samsung washer/dryer set. Ideally for the space it would be best with front loaders but Ive always heard complaints about front load washers. They aren't the prettiest appliances but they are supposed to be built well and claim to last 25 years. Just curious if anybody has gone this route.

I have a set of them now in my home. They are 20 years old and still going strong. The best units on the market will last a long time. They are built for commercial use thus built like a tank. You will not look back once purchased.

Did you go with the stackable units or individual front loaders?

I have the individual front loaders. Like you said, they aren't the prettiest, but I'm going for clean clothes and longevity. Not entering these things in a beauty pageant. Couldn't be happier with them.

ETA: Speed Queen only does one thing: clean clothes. They don't make stoves, fridges, dishwashers, dvd players, TV's, and cell phones. They decided to do one thing and be the best at it.

My speed queen washer is an old fashion top loader. No issues what so ever.

We have a stacked unit & like it. Would have preferred a top loader & dryer but didn't have the room.

Purchased top load washer and a dryer three years ago. No complaints. Does what we need it to, wash and dry.

Funny this thread came up.....

Our washer just died last week. Multiple friends and family convinced us to replace it with a Speed Queen. After doing some research, pulled the trigger and the new unit is being delivered today. Went with the no-frills 5 model.

We've had good luck with their light commercial models. I forget who the parent company is, but lots of their parts cross reference to other brands. We went with a highest reviewed unit from Costco a few years back as our 20 year old units finally died, wish I had the old ones back.

Ugly, simple washer and dryers are the best.

Speed Queen is owned by Alliance Laundry Systems. Other brands include Unimac, Huebsch, Primus, and IPSO. Those are all commercial/industrial laundry manufacturers. Speed Queen and Huebsch might be the only one that offers a home version of a commercial product.

I purchased my set at Turner's in Navasota. Lot of people in the College Station area recommend Buddy's appliances. I've got nothing bad to say about them. I'm just a Navasota boy.

Went this route 5 or so years ago after going through a Samsung and Maytag in the previous 4-5 years… when the 2 year old "highly reviewed" Maytag washer went out again and it was going to cost more to fix than buying new I asked the repairman what he would buy… his answer was SpeedQueen and nothing else. I purchased the SQ the next day and haven't had a single problem.

We have speed queen dryer. The Samsung washer is still working but whenever it dies we'll replace it with a speed queen. Got it at Nebraska Furniture Mart on sale.
