What's a good basketball goal to mount next to the driveway?

Need something high quality but not crazy expensive. Looking for something to go into the ground rather than a weighted base. Thanks.

I think a budget would help, but I don't think you're going to get out as cheap as you hope without sacrificing some sort of quality.

I had an in-ground post with a fiberglass backboard was at the end of its life. There wasn't an existing backboard that was really compatible with the post's elbow & bracket, so I ended up pulling it out and replacing with a taller section of well casing that I had on hand. Then I mounted this goal (Link). I sort of wish I had considered a complete post/backboard package that would allow me to change the height of the rim, but the route I went ended up being much cheaper for a mid-quality level backboard. The well casing also gives me some flexibility in the future when this backboard needs replacement.

Haha! Thanks. Fixed.

I also think we had to buy a kit with it to mount to a pole

Not looking for an HOA argument...
OP if you live in an HOA though you'll likely need to run this through your Architecture Committee. I realize it's a pain and they could well say, "No" but you'll save yourself the hassle and expense if they come back and say to take it down.

I installed that Spalding goal from Academy and it worked out great and really inexpensive. You'll probably be able to pick it up for around $100 less around the holidays. Also, once you have the concrete in the ground, after around 5 years you can easily replace if needed by purchasing the same goal and placing it into the same concrete base.

Since no budget, I bought a Goaliath 54". Had it 5 years and still looks and works like brand new. Got it for somewhere between $400-500 on a big sale at Dicks.

I bought a 60" Goaliath from Dicks. It's been great, but it wasn't particularly cheap.

My only advice is when you set the base in the ground, dig the hole much bigger than the instructions say to, and use as much concrete as you can. I think I used 14 bags or so. If you dig the hole to the dimensions in the instructions and use the amount of concrete they recommend, the post will shake for 5-10 seconds after every shot. The deeper/wider you dig, and the more concrete you use, the less the post will shake. My kids probably wouldn't have cared, but I looked at someone elses hoop, and it bothered me.
