opinions on which is easier or better to use for a barn door in a bathroom:

Floor Mount: https://rustica.com/floor-mount-standard/

Wall Mount: https://rustica.com/wall-mount-adjustable-standard-guide/

Door came pre-grooved on the bottom, so this "should" be simple.

If floor mount is the option, its a tile floor - how do you prevent cracking when drilling a hole?

From your link- " Wall mounted floor guides are great when you have tile, marble, or cement floors. "

Just keep it simple. You can buy a drill bit for tile, but if that tile decides to shift you no longer have a level surface for the door to travel on.

I've also heard of wall mounted door hardware which travels along a groove on the inside of the top of the door. Looked pretty slick without the typical barn door hardware exposed above the door.

yeah - seen those. We are going with traditional track with j strap/wheels.

My only question about the wall mounted guide would be - is the floorboard strong enough for it to not wobble after the door is bumping it all the time. Perhaps it will screw into the 2x4 that is horizontal on the floor, behind the sheetrock and it won't be an issue.

More than likely with the wall mounted version you'll either screw into the 2x4 at floor level or for sure your trim.

Those floor mounted versions look nice, but do you want to put holes in your bathroom floor where there's potential for leaks?

No, but wanted to verify the wall mounted ones more to get a better sense of if they are effective - are they adjustable enough to come out far enough to where the groove is under the door. I think I'm gonna buy both and return the one I don't use since this will be likely the last item to install.

Good plan. Just buy some shims or even rubber bushings for any needed adjustments if you to that route.

I like this one. I always have an issue where the inner roller, on the ones with two, sits too far out from the wall. I used this one recently and it worked well. There should be a stud close to the door, so you won't have any issues with how sturdy it is.

I don't want to have any hardware exposed on the usable side of the door. for my setup, this guide is going to be right at the corner of the door casing. thank you though.
