Is this just a poor job taping the drywall seam or do I have a bigger problem?

No water damage. Originally was a small crack in the mud at the top where the discoloration is that I patched. The crack propagated over the last 4-6 months to what it is now

No expert but that looks like a floating problem.

How old is the house? My 32 year old home has this in places that I attribute to being 32 year old floating and taping reaching end of its useful life.

Built in 2007. This is the only seam in the entire house doing this. The other three seams in the ceiling have no issues.

Looks like a poor job taping. Redo it and see what happens?

Appreciate the replies. Going to redo it and see. I pushed on it this morning and it has some give. Thinking the tape wasn't set in the seam very well.

Your framing is moving

Look at the bottom where it is starting to crunch up
If it was poor taping the line would be even all the way down

Now retaping may work because it maybe done moving

We are seeing a lot of this as well this year with the 2nd year of the drought we had lots of foundation movement over the summer and have a lot of corners like this unfortunately. Doesn't take much shift to move a higher wall like that and the tape come loose.
