As the thread title suggests, any hints as to re-adhering garage door panels to the frame?

The upper panel on our garage panel has popped loose from the frame at a couple of places, and was curious if there was a way to us to reglue them back to the frame. The entire door really needs replacing, but times are tight, and was wondering if was possible for us to do it ourselves well enough to get by until it can be properly replaced. JB Weld comes to mind, but I was wondering if there was something better (especially if it needs to be reversed).

If you can post a picture, it may help to understand a bit better?

Is the door metal or wood? Wood I assume?

Has it bowed/warped due to age and popped out of the groove? Or is something rotted or broken? Maybe adding a small piece of molding/trim to hold it in?

Give a bit more info and we can likely help out.

It's a metal frame with aluminum panels. It has warped due to age and heat over the years, and there are small cracks in parts of the panels. A couple of rollers had popped out, but we got them reset. As before, it's basically on its last legs, and as we might not be here much longer, we're just trying to nurse it along a little longer.

Glue and metal usually don't work great together. You're probably looking for metal screws to hold two pieces of metal together.

Will something like this help? I added horizontal metal piece to secure vertical aluminum frame to top. If only you'd post a pic.

I examined my steel frame / aluminum skin garage door and it appears the factory used a polyurethane construction adhesive.

I've had good luck with the Loctite PL line, such as these:

Loctite PL Premium MAX Construction Adhesive

Good luck.

EDIT: That was the link for the Silane product.

The polyurethane product is here:

Loctite PL Premium Construction Adhesive (Polyurethane)

I've only used the polyurethane product. The silane may be better, but I can't say.
