I am a generac hater so i would never recommend them. Know scon is the local onan supplier so they may have a name of someone that installs them locally. Onan is Cummins and my other choice would be kohler. Just my $0.02
Where would one buy a Cummins/Onan generator in the 10kw-15kw size? I have a diesel generator for the house but it's not big enough to run everything which is ok but would like bigger. I like the 1800RPM over the screaming 3600RPM gassers. Mine is Lombardini which is now Kohler.
This is who my friend used locally in brazos county. https://www.sconservices.com/ They are who onan recommended for local vendor. He is running propane and had startex setup tank and plumbing and they delivered, setup and did the startup procedure. Believe their business is typically more industrial but the did the work for his home/farm infrastructure.
no real help here but I've been looking at Isuzu diesel powered generators in the 20kw range.
Main reason is I think I want diesel and their foot print is a little less than 3' x 5'.
I don't want to mess with propane tanks, running natural gas lines or getting city permits of I can avoid it. I can hide a generator of this size in my garage.
I'm not sure it would be wise to run a diesel generator inside a closed garage. Unless your planning on opening the garage door or ventilating thru the wall/roof.
Yes, a plan would include vent for air intake and exhaust piped outside
You can put it in your garage as long as you do what you say but it's noisy. They tend to drone. I had mine in a 6x6 room off my house and it drones. It's not bad but it's a low rpm.
