I need to replace our pool filters, however I do not have any experience with any of the brands. I went to our local pool supply and they wanted $540 for 4 of them yet Amazon has alot of options under $280.

Anyone have any success not buying the expensive store bought pool filters?

I bought the poolpure brand off Amazon this spring (4 pack) and it was about $180. Have been very happy with them so far. Easy to replace and have done great keeping water clear.

Mine are 420's so price is probably a little different than what you're looking at.

Local pool supply is the absolute worst place to buy. Markup is outrageous.
You can do better at a reputable online pool supplier. Depending on what you are ordering, some of the Amazon items may be cheap knockoffs sold as name brands. I have heard reviews of things not fitting exactly right.
Filters are not always a precision fit item, so it may not matter in this case. But I would start with poolsupply4less or poolwarehouse or inyopool first and compare prices.
