I've had the Kobalt 80V electric mower for about 5 years now and it works great. As others have mentioned, long/wet grass drains the battery and doesn't result in a very clean cut. But if you're consistent with mowing before it gets too tall then electric is the way to go.

I have 3 batteries and 2 chargers. If it's only been a week between cuts then 3 batteries usually covers mowing, weedeating, and leaf blowing. If the grass is long/wet then I'll go through a couple extra charge cycles but they charge fast enough that I don't have to sit around waiting on the next battery to be ready.

Don't know why I'd ever go back to a gas engine.

Ego brand
21" power select XP cut self propelled

Returning to Lowe's tomorrow. This thing sucks. It leaves a ton of un-mowed blades, regardless of how slow you mow and how much you overlap each row. It effectively has about a 9" cutting deck. It may work well for folks with Bermuda or some other fine grass, but on long, thick St. Augustine, it can't get it done.

I loved how quiet and light the mower was though.

Back to gas!

I can't say I have the same experience with my Ego mower. Mine plows right through thick St. Augustine with no problem. Maybe something wrong with your specific unit?
