How long do you want to ignore this user?
I am wanting to have a small shed, 8x8 or 8x10, installed in my backyard. Any recommendations on who to use? Have been trying to get a tuff shed from Home Depot but for some reason they are not able to receive payment (have talked to several people, been told we would get a call back several times and nothing). I can go thru tuff shed directly but for some reason the same shed is about $375 more. Just wondering if there are other options.

Katy area.

I do hope you get some more current suggestions than mine, so I can learn in case I have a need as well.

My purchase turned out better than normal for a "cheap man that spends the most". (We were saving for college x4 budgets.) Pre-built MORGAN sheds on East side of HWY6 freeway near Bryan in-the-day, the year 1995 ... and is as good as new as was then (if washed).

Portable Building Outlet HWY 6 Bryan
Morgan Dutch Barn 10x12' V9TACSAN H-1
Front door, rear SH window, treated floor
Delivered & leveled above ground
$1834.84
Added treated floor, anticipating kids would leave the door open in rain.

ABOVE grade important, another one built by a kid floods, ants, etc.
All METAL exterior = NO work, except clearing fallen branches, washing every few years
Pest deterrents for underneath include all sorts of powders, sprays, even Irish Spring if you have no dogs to patrol it
Power? I bought a ground-rot resistant high amp extension cord and shallow buried it, Presto! Let there be light, charging, even small power tools.

They will handle permits & clearances to property lines, if any legals afoot.

2016 my last inquiry resulted in a pretty good price w/many options

I used a father/son team for my backyard shed. They did a great job. 8x10 $1500ish for it. I added lighting and the decorative gravel after so thats not part of their work. Katy area. They were about half the cost of a ripoff tuff shed and gave me way more including a window(or shelves if you preferred that instead) and ridge vent as part of their build whereas tuff was just 4 walls and a roof.

We did Tuff-Shed about a year and a half ago, through HD, and are very satisfied with it. Sorry to hear you are having problems with their system. One thing I can say is, if you think 10x8 will fit what you need it for, get at least a 10x10. They fill up fast. I was going to get a 10x10, and my BILs recommended a 10x12. After getting it installed, insulated and sheathing up over the insulation, I wish I had gone either 10x14 or 12x12. There are still some things in the garage that I wish I had room for in the shed.

We ordered a shed through Dersken two years ago and have been very happy with it. Ours was a delivered assembled but I think they do a build on site option too.

If you do order prebuilt, make sure your yard can give access to big ass tractor they use to put the shed in place. Your normal 3' gate aint gonna cut it lol. This usually requires removing sections of fence to access the yard and if you have neighbors on 3 sides, it ain't gonna work.

I suggest you go with whomever built this shed.

FatZilla - was the $1500 for the entire project or just the install of a shed you bought elsewhere?

It was built on site.

Rich Santos from Xcalibur-building.com just called and walked me through the process.

He said for The Woodlands it would just be a $50 travel charge. Now I just need to do some clearing and get my wife's sign-off.

Thanks for the information Fatzilla.

Glad to hear. They were very easy to work with and got the job done in 1 day for mine.

FatZilla - is that a solar-powered light that you added to your shed? I'm thinking about adding one to mine. How well is it working for you?

Both work well. I had to rig the inside one to cut the power from the solar array when i turn on a light switch which makes it think its dark out but they both work good. The front and center one is standalone solar and motion.
