I need something for acorns....do not have those huge ones....small ones....cherry size....

Will most of these vacuums work? My next option is going to be chop down the darn tree....
This x10000. I need a good solution for these dang things.

I have a neighbor that is about four houses down that I see gets out in his yard with one of the large shop vacs sucking up acorns. Not sure how successful it is but a thought.

I bought the Worx leaf vacuum/ mulcher since I love my Worx 56V battery leaf blower (unfortunately discontinued). I thought it would be a great gadget since we have a wooded back yard with a mix of live oak and cedar elms (PIA). It would work on light leaf cover; however, we just simply have too many leaves and it takes forever for it to mulch the leaves. I have found it is easier for me to blow all my leaves into a smaller area followed by a couple of passes with my mulching mower on its lowest setting.

Haha I did that last year. Works but is slow and back-breaking. I didn't bother this year.

If you have a mulching mower there is about zero reason to rake leaves.

I've always heard this and practiced this for years but my lawn always suffered until I started raking. Mulching just doesn't pick up live oak leaves.

Same here. I ended up with a thick mat of mulched live oak leafs that blocked water and nutrients. After I raked and removed, the lawn really showed improvement that next spring

It's not a matter of "picking them up", it's a matter of having a good fertility program that matches nitrogen requirements with the decomposing task at hand. If my garden can get rid of 8"+ of leaves in a few months time, your yard with mulched leaves and fertilizer can, too.

I have turf and use this one to pick up leafs and mulch them. Works great for everything but heavy acorns, it can't pick that up.

WORX

I have this one also. It works well. Surprising how much the bag will hold after the leaves are shredded. Just can't feed it too fast.

I got this or something similar as a hand me down once my grandpa wasn't able to do yardwork anymore. Thankfully it has an attachment that I can stretch over a full size trash can and fill it up with mulch instead of using the bag. Has a metal impeller that chews up just about everything except the odd stick that's too thick.
