+10000 on Margaret at Marina. I bought the Dolphin S300 from her in January and couldn't be happier. Honestly, I could have been okay with the S200 because I rarely use the Bluetooth option. I wish it wasn't a huge jump to a WiFi version and I would have gone that route and been able to control every aspect of my pool with my phone remotely. You have to be so close to the base with the app on the S300 it's pointless other than to control the robot manually.

I have a Hayward SharkVac. I'm not a fan at all.

When I bought my house it came with one. That one worked great until a motor in it stopped. So I thought I'd stick with that mode for a replacement. The new one is not nearly as good. It doesn't seem to cover the entire floor of the pool and the plastic housing feels much cheaper than the older one.

Also Marina Pool and Spa has the best prices for replacement parts. During my switchover this year from the leaf bag to filter grids, I had misplaced the two rubber stoppers needed for the filter insert. Everywhere else had them for $10-$20 each while Marina had them for 2.99.

Dolphin S200 or S300 (S200 with bluetooth). Call Marina Pool and Spa in Colorado and they can give you the lowest price over the phone, free shipping.

All the Dolphin models are the same basic designs, just different names and color schemes based on what retail outlet it is sold under (online, versus pool store, versus pool builder)

Got mine from Marina, they were very helpful and pricing was excellent

have any of you all had issues with dogs trying to chew on the electrical cord? that would be my concern with 2 gsp's and a lab. Right now our GSP loves to chase the Polaris tail and catch it in the water and chew on it. Or she grabs it and then ends up biting through the main suction line.

We are trying to find an effective alternative, so any advice would be appreciated

No problems here with my schnauzer, but he's smart enough to know I'd get rid of him if he cost me more than I spent on him.

Beating the hell out of a dog that ruins a thousand dollar item is well within called for punishment.

Make the stupid dog fear the vacuum.

Read through this thread with interest. Closing on house with our first pool in a week. Older pool. Figure this will be a great upgrade.

From the thread and searching online there are tons of choices. Want to see if I properly read the info. The upgraded models don't really seem worth it. Can buy the caddy and a cover on Amazon for 150. Don't think I care about programming or Bluetooth. Want great vacuum and brushing and waterline cleaning. Want dolphin or pentair maytronics.. Dolphin Triton ps seems like a good choice? Or maybe the s200?

Reached out to the marina pool place but haven't heard back.

S200 is all you need. If you want a caddie, just get the s300. My pool is spotless when my S200/300 runs.

I have a Polaris 280 that admittedly has something going wrong with it fairly often, but when it's working, I don't have to do anything and it runs every day. Are these robotic cleaners not a pain to have to manually put in the pool every time you want to clean it? I'm definitely curious in what sounds like it would be much more effective cleaning, but just worried I will end up frustrated not having it all automated.

you still have to empty out the Polaris though right? Same thing with the robot cleaners

The robot will run every day for 7 days, then you have to emtpy it out and start the cycle again. Or you can program it for every 2 days or every 3 days.

Technically you don't have to empty it out, but you have to go restart the schedule every 7 days.

And do you leave the Polaris in the water when people swim?

I mean for us, it was spend well over 1k to buy a new pump and buy the Polaris itself, versus this thing at much less.

And it cleans better according to most reviews.

So in that case you just leave it plugged into an outlet I guess?

yes. Honestly though, during the summer I run it once a week and take it out. I don't have a lot of leaves in my pools in season.

I leave my s300 in full time, plugged in. I just clean it out once a week. It cleans 3x a week.

Ordered from Marina this afternoon. They were out of S200 but had Active20 so went with that.

I took it apart and figured out the problem but I don't have the part to fix it so they are sending a new one.

What was the issue? Mine would run for about 5 minutes and stop with a power supply error code. They overnighted a new one pretty quick and haven't had trouble since.

So we are building a pool now, finished in about a month, month and a half. Would it be best to call her and order a S200 now to make sure they have one by the time we finish?

Won't hurt.

You'll also need to run it with the fine mesh screen in half a dozen times the first two weeks to get all off the fine material off the wall. Along with brushing.

Follow the plaster instructions. Mine said dont to use a robot for the first 28 days.

It looks like they used the wrong gear on the drive. The teeth aren't deep enough to engage so the drive just spins. It sounds like spinning a prize wheel. Also they are not lined up like it's missing a bushing/spacer.

Second this.

I can't remember what our instructions were. I know it said to brush everyday. I thought it was also vacuum.

So had to call Maytronics back Monday and spend another 30 minutes on hold because I didn't receive the RMA email promised on Friday. Still waiting on the FedEx label that "Arthur" says they have no control over when it's sent.

I'm not an engineer and obviously by the number of edits not proficient at images on a forum but if the gear attached to the drive shaft isn't engaged then my very uneducated guess is your expensive pool robot isn't going to move an inch.

Received our new active 20 from Marina today for our new house. Ran it a couple times while we were there doing paint and stuff. Pool is in pretty good shape, but it still picked up some gunk.

Easy setup, ran without a hitch and Marina was very good to work with. Highly recommend.

Received our replacement Active 20 direct from Maytronics today. The first thing I did was check the gear. It worked as it should. We've been without a cleaner for a while but still impressed with everything it picked up. We're going to run it every day for a week to catch-up.

I did speak to Margaret and she was great. The out of box failure is not a reflection on Marina. She was happy that I took the time to diagnose the problem as she thinks it may solve a number of failures.
