Needing a budget brand recommendation for plumbing fixtures.

We are building a new house and I am curious if anyone knows of any reputable plumbing fixture brands that dont cost an arm and a leg. Looking at getting some delta faucets from a local store and their prices are really high $400-$600 for each faucet.

Is there really that big of a gap in quality between a delta faucet and a faucet a couple hundred dollars cheaper on amazon? I know that you want to have faucets that are constructed out of brass.

Please help if you know of anything.

Delta has a lifetime warranty so you will only buy a faucet once.

I think you can find older models online for less.

Go to a wholesaler like Morrison
Toilets - Western
Faucets - Gemline (house brand)
Kitchen sink - Gemline

Yes, there is a difference. There are also varying trim levels in each of the brands. I would use either Delta or Moen if you want nice faucets that are affordable.

These are brushed nickel, but bronze is comparable in price.

Here is a moen for $158

Delta:

Lastly, for a bathroom sink, you can get 4", single, or widespread. Widespread looks nicest and is the most expensive. If you want to save a few dollars, use 4" in the hall/children baths.

Also, buy a nice kitchen faucet. You can also save by not putting in a pot filler, but my wife likes having one.

And for toilets, get Toto. You will not regret it. I like the Drake or Drake II.

Check amazon warehouse. Sometimes 50-75% off "used" (open box) fixtures.

Delta all the way

Do it once and be done

What kind of fixtures are you looking at that are $400-$600 ?

Most Delta kitchen fixtures I have installed are usually $200-$350

Most of the bath faucets are $150-200 for 8 inch and $80 - $120 for 4 inch.

Most of these little faucets are $150-200 for 8 inch and $80 - $120 for 4 inch.

I guess its the matte black finish that makes them so expensive

My experience is with nickel, bronze and chrome finish. Just looked up matte black Finish and got sticker shock.

Ive heard that the delta fixtures on amazon are not OEM delta faucets, is that true regarding delta products on build.com too?

So does Moen, fyi.

I'm probably going to regret this later, but I've bought a number of faucets/fixtures from Amazon based generally on reviews, which I know many reviews are suspect. Upon receipt of all of the faucets/fixtures, they all appear to have pretty sturdy brass components. This is more than I can say for a lot of the faucets I've purchased at the big box stores in recent years.

Just built a new house and used delta in the bathrooms and dxv in the kitchen/laundry. I have no regrets.

Buy a cheaper delta or moen. They're not all $400-600. I'm not sure what kind of style you are looking at.

Go to bulid.com and get all the fixtures into your shopping cart and request a quote from them. If the total is over $1000, they'll usually knock some off the price for you.

10-15 years down the line when you need a new valve for your faucet or shower, do you think you'll be able to find one for whatever random brand amazon is selling this year?

I know I will probably get bashed for mentioning Pfister, but thought I'd share my experience. We built our home almost 2 years ago and opted to get higher end Kohler fixtures in the common areas, and master. However, we couldn't justify spending a lot on our kids bathroom's and chose some Pfister fixtures that were similar in style, but obviously cost hundreds less.

Our children are still young, and sure enough about a month ago one of them was playing with the water in the sink and pushed on the handle way too hard with all his weight and the handle broke. The next day I went into Ferguson where we got all our fixtures with the intention of buying a new handle, and possibly a whole new fixture if needed. The rep said "no need, Pfister offers a lifetime warranty." He looked up our fixture, and called Pfister customer service. We spent exactly 6 minutes with them on the phone, and the rep got all our info and said he would be mailing us out a new handle. He mentioned- "your fixture is covered for as long as you own the home. If you have any other issues just call us back." A week later we received our new handle, popped it in and that was that.

Long story, but was really surprised by the efficient customer service provided by Pfister. We had always heard mixed reviews about them, but it was nice to see someone actually honor their "Lifetime Warranty" offer with such a painless process. Would definitely recommend Pfister for any areas of the house you are trying to keep under budget.
