We put plugs under our eaves and wired them on a separate circuit with a timer. We plug all the Christmas lights in to those and set the timer. Never have to get out of bed to turn off the lights, or go outside in the cold to unplug things. Lights also come on and go off when we are not at home.

Don't mess with cat5e, def just buy and install Cat6.

Run 1.5" conduit down all exterior walls with pull string at tv locations, maybe office area also, so you can run future wiring with ease. Also use recessed power/data outlet behind TVs so they can sit flush.

Run Cat6 to WAP locations to junction box in the ceiling as well.

Also, if you are into Roombas or Botvacs, pick a closet you want it stationed in and add a outlet near the floor. Cut the closet door bottom high, to leave enough clearance for Roomba to go under.

Speaking of media/roomba closet (ours is the same), the larger opening along bottom can have a dual purpose to also let cooler fresh air in while your exhaust fan pushes hot air out near the top of closest. There is a thread here that I will link ina bit, but it explains the setup using a dual fan exhaust unit with thermostat.
