Where did you get the prodamine? If you purchased online and can post a link, I would appreciate it.

We will start to have cooler nights a few weeks prior to those down South. Just about everything, fertilizer, planting, pruning, pre-emergent applications, are going to be a few weeks ahead (fall) or behind (spring) of Houston.
Hackberry leafs are starting to fall in our area, East Dallas, as are the acorns. Speaking to some of the old timers, they are expecting long cold we Winter.
Does anyone know if I can find the pre-emergents I need at Ace?Quote:
Late October-Early November - Use two (2) different pre-emergent herbicides, to prevent the weeds that we experience in February and March. First is a pre-emergent with Portrait or Gallery for broadleaf weeds like clover. Second, use a pre-emergent with Amaze, Betasan, Balan or Treflan for grassy weeds like poa anna or annual bluegrass. There is also Barricade, Dimension or Pendimethlin as a 2-in-1 control.
might have been a little late on the herbicide. First year application is spotty , at best, since there are already some active weeds left over . I suggest that you hit the yard with a good cold weather spray on to knock these things down. It can take a few seasons to really achieve that great yard BUT following Randy's schedule WILL absolutely positively work.Big12Champ06 said:
I'm going to piggyback on this thread. I started following Lemmon's schedule this fall. I'm in College Station and put out the Barricade pre-emergent on 10/29. Broadleafs are going crazy in my yard right now! Did I do something wrong or is it still early in the process? I'm pretty sure I put out the right amount but I could be wrong.

Its time to start the pre-e as soon as you want. You have a 3 or 4 week window.Big12Champ06 said:
When is everyone in BCS putting their pre-emergent out? I read that daytime highs need to be in the 60s 4 days in a row. The forecast looks like now is the time but I'm a total novice at this. Also where does everyone get their supplies?

If you applied Dimension, Team, Halts or Balan granules for pre-emergent control of grassburs and crabgrass back in March, you will soon need to make a second application for a full season of prevention. You don't need to apply it now, but many sources close out their supplies after early spring. Start looking now. Buy it when you find it and have it on hand. If you did not treat earlier this spring, there's no point in doing so now.

For most warm-season grasses (St. Augustine, bermuda, zoysia, etc.) you could fertilize April 1, June 1, August 1 and October 1 in most of the state. In far North Texas you could probably get by with three feedings April 15, June 15 and September 15.
