Bump... Has anyone had any success actually getting more money out of a home warranty for a replacement than the "builder grade" amount? As mentioned above, my fan that apparently broke cost a lot more than $70 but that is what they say a builder grade fan costs so that is what they will pay.

Next, our dishwasher is awful & needs to be replaced. A guy came out today from the home warranty and I was convinced they would say it needs to be replaced but he is going to order a part and try that first apparently. What is the best way/things to say to argue that it needs to be replaced rather than repaired?

Any thoughts or suggestions on how to move forward?
