I have a small (2' x 3') area of flooring outside a second floor shower that is feeling spongy and probably needs to be replaced due to water exposure.
Plan is to remove the tile and figure out how far the damaged wood extends and then replace. Not certain what I have below the tiles with regards to subfloor composition, thickness, etc. but I am about to find out.
I have seen multiple suggestions to use exterior plywood that can handle future moisture exposure. Any reason that I would need to consider ACX over CDX or vice versa? Since this isn't (hopefully) a huge area to be replaced, cost of the wood may not be that big of an issue. But is one grade better suited than the other with regards to strength, durability, moisture tolerance, etc.?
Thanks Ags.
