The plastic liner on the bottom of the door needs replaced. Upon trying trying to take off the metal piece that holds it, I realized the prior owner had the same idea and jacked up the phillips head. I tried a #1 screw extractor, but the screw is too small. Cant get a vice grip or pliers grab onto it. Cant chisel a gouge in it for a flathead screwdriver bc the glass door will break if i hammer hard enough.

What else can I try here?

Cut a slot with a dremel and use a flat head

You can get a screw extracor kit for around $10. Usually involves a little drilling to prep the screw for the extractor.

Have you tried to put a rubber band on the screw and using that for a little more grip?
