I've done some research and it seems Habiturf is a decent option for a native grass blend. I've got about 1/2 acre lawn in South Austin and am thinking of tilling the Augustine under (or what's left of it) and throwing down and mixing in some Habiturf seed.

Curious if anyone can offer any opinions (hey this is TexAgs, right) and/or first hand experience with this blend? Pros v Cons?

No experience with it, but the mixture looks interesting. I have a few neighbors that have gone with buffalo grass in their front lawns and have had a good experience with it. I've been contemplating the same thing, using buffalo (possibly this mixture) in the front and a well groomed bermuda in the back for the dog and company.

Better get a second mortgage to seed 1/2 acres with this stuff...

What would those ****ers know about turf grass. If they couldn't smoke it, they wouldn't know what to do with it.

Incase anyone is interested, wanted to follow up with a 5 week pic of the Habiturf seed I dropped in the backyard. Got a few weeds, but the turf is looking pretty good and starting to thicken and fill in. Dropped the seed during the last week in March and just mowed it for the first time today (it was already starting to seed out).
