I may be forgetting others, but this has been a terrible stretch for American team events.

We've lost this one once. In 1998. Dropping this one would be a new low.

I guess I'm interested. I care about Aggie football....well I did before last Saturday. Now I'm just numb, and can't wait to watch The President's Cup instead.

That could become a possibility if there is another USA rout over the Internationals this weekend. Could envision a Wednesday through Sunday event with Team USA, Team Europe and Team Internationals competing in a preliminary round robin to determine the Top 2 team scorers before Sunday's finale. I would like to see all 12 players for each team playing in each round robin contest though.

Golf is so widespread worldwide, we should have a worldwide event with countries not just regions. The Olympic golf is just another tournament. It should have some element of country competition. The ryder and presidents cup are fun but I would like something that is country specific.

crap ton of commercials (just like Ryder Cup) make it hard to get in the flow of watching

They used to play a World Cup golf event which was the top 2 players from each country played against other countries. 2018 was the last year they played it

For anyone interested, the Hole #'s are different from the normal Course 3 layout. The logic is that match play is won/lost around Hole #14-#18 stretch.
I'm not there in person (unfortunately) but the pictures are from my relative who is a member.

Azinger's pod system and winning the Ryder Cup in 2008 was probably the worst thing that could've happened. Now we're just playing catch-up.

The same clowns losing Ryder Cups continue to suck in these formats.

Just mind boggling how bad we are at team golf.

Too many top USA players have money and comfortable lifestyle that they don't really care about the team golf competition.

Everybody griping about the likes of Cantlay and Burns like the answer is to put worse golfers on the team.
Look at Scheffler's Presidents and Ryder Cup record, yall wanna leave him off too? He's 3-6-3 in Ryder and 3-5-1 in presidents. Through both events he's 1-5 in foursomes.

We've got to find some foursomes teams. In the last 2 Ryder cups we've lost the foursomes 13-3, the fourball matches are basically even and we've won more singles matches. We got swept in a foursomes session the last Presidents cup too. When you can't even find a partner for a guy like scheffler, something is wrong with the system for picking partners.

Some people you have to leave on the team because they are so freaking good and truly earned it. Other guys who are fringe auto or pick guys always seem to come from the same boys club.

Does anyone with a straight face think Cantlay had a better year than Reed (Reed is ranked 1 behind Cantlay in owgr). We all know why Reed didn't get considered, which is the exact problem with the US. Politics and ego and butt buddies.

The problem with Burns is he's an all-around choker in all major events.

Reed didn't get picked for the same reason the internationals are missing guys. It's a PGA Tour owned property and he's not on the PGA Tour (yet).
But with the likes of Koivun and Bridgeman on the team, replacing Cantlay and Xander isn't even a discussion.

But I believe he was eligible for selection. Which is my point. You want to win? Go get a killer who had a good season.

I dont think there is a world where an American player who isn't a full time PGA Tour player is going to get picked for the Presidents Cup outside of winning a major.

P Reed also has a losing Presidents Cup record. He was great when he was paired with prime Spieth, and that's all anybody remembers. But in his last 2 team events he went 2-5, and those 2 wins came in singles. So you're griping about the guys out there today, but want to add a guy who went 0-5 in his last 5 matches with a partner.

I agree there isn't a world where it happens. That's sorta my point too.

But remove Reed. Bridgeman Cantlay and JT over Spaun was just dumb and proved the butt buddy club theory.
