Reau Leads Aggies in Opening Round at Folds of Honor


- The Aggies finished round one even par and tied for second behind Kansas.
- Senior Louise Reau shot a 2-under 70 to pace the team and held onto a share of fourth after 18 holes.
- 18 amateur in the world Vanessa Borovilos shot 1-under 71 to open the season and was tied for eighth.

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. - The No. 4 Texas A&M women's golf team was led by Louise Reau's 2-under 70 that helped lead the team into a tie for second Monday after the first round of the Folds of Honor Collegiate at the American Dunes Golf Club.


"We did a lot of good things out there today," Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell said. "We weren't very sharp on the front nine, but we got off to a strong start on the back. I am excited to get out there tomorrow afternoon with a round under our belts. Louise was great and it was no surprise to us because she has been leading us in qualifying this past week. I am very proud of her and the work she put in this summer to get to this point."

The Maroon & White were four shots back of Kansas (-4) who held onto the lead after 18 holes. The Aggies were tied with FSU at even par, while Arizona (+4) and Duke (+4) rounded out the top five.

Reau held onto a piece of fourth place after Monday's action. The senior sank birdies on three of her final five holes of the day and was behind Kansas's Anna Wallin by two strokes heading into the second round.

Preseason All-American Vanessa Borovilos fired a 1-under 71 and stood tied for eighth. Emerie Schartz carded a 1-over 73 in her collegiate debut, giving the freshman a piece of 16th place after the first 18 holes of her career. Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio and Brynn Kort both logged a 2-over 74 and shared 26th place.

The Aggies are scheduled to tee off in the afternoon wave Tuesday with Kort going off first at 12:50 p.m. from No. 1.

Women's Golf in Fourth at Folds of Honor Collegiate

- Texas A&M's final round Wednesday is scheduled to be broadcast on Golf Channel from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

- Freshman Emerie Schartz shot even-par 72 and led the Aggies in the second round.

- Senior Louise Reau stands tied for 11th to pace the Maroon & White.


GRAND HAVEN, Mich. The No. 4 Texas A&M women's golf team finished the second round of the Folds of Honor Collegiate at the American Dunes Golf Club in fourth place after shooting a 3-over 291.

"We are hoping for an opportunity to play tomorrow and make a move," Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell said. "There is some rain in the forecast, so I am not sure what tomorrow will bring. We were kind of sloppy today but overall, everyone has looked good at certain points. I am excited that I know we have great golf in us, but I just want that chance to go out there tomorrow and prove it."

The Aggies fell two spots on the team leaderboard behind Kansas (-5), Arizona (+1) and FSU (+2) after Tuesday's round. Texas A&M was eight shots back of the Jayhawks for the lead heading into the final day.

Freshman Emerie Schartz logged an even-par round to move into a tie for 17th. Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio also went even par and held onto a share of 21st.

Louise Reau sank a tap-in birdie on No. 18 to get her down to 2-over 74 on the day. The senior was still leading the Aggies thru 36 holes at even-par 144 and tied for 11th.

Vanessa Borovilos and Brynn Kort shot 2-over 74 and 1-over 73, respectively. Borovilos was tied for 17th and Kort had a piece of 23rd prior to Wednesday's final round.

Despite poor weather conditions in the forecast, the Aggies will tee off at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The Golf Channel TV window is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Live stats for the tournament can be found at:

Girls posted a great 3rd round and are tied for the lead. Co-leader FSU still on the course with a few holes left.

Girls team A made a good run today. Unfortunately Florida St. was one shot better down the stretch. Finished second in their first tournament of the fall.

Freshman Emerie Schartz led the team at overall with a tournament-2 (T6 individual)

This Freshman class is looking really good so far! Athena was -6 on the day in the alternate tournament in Texas and currently -7 overall (T8).

Schartz Leads Aggies to Runner-Up Finish at Folds of Honor

Aggies finished one stroke back of champion FSU. I agree with above - the Freshmen did very well in their first collegiate tournaments! Athena Singh finished at T6 with a -9 overall at the tournament in Trophy Club, only one off the lead - awesome start!

- Freshman Emerie Schartz shot 3-under 69 in the final round to lead the Aggies to a runner-up finish.

- Texas A&M was the lone team to have all five golfers finish inside the top 20 on the individual leaderboard.

- The Maroon & White have not finished outside of the top two at a fall tournament since October of 2024.

Had some really good rounds in both tournaments by several players. Looking good for the future.
