Any list of all-time greats should include Walter Hagen. Any list of most influential golfers includes him, maybe at the top.

He won 11 majors and only competed in Masters a few times after his prime. He won all of the big events at the time, many of which were considered majors, before that was a term.

He popularized golf more than any other player. And he legitimized professional golf.

Nicklaus, Woods, Hagen and Hogan. That's your Mount Rushmore.


Rory is in a big group of people in next level. Mickelson, Faldo, Trevino, Palmer, etc. Rory will probably get a few more and move up the list. He also been good in Ryder Cup. But I can't imagine him surpassing any of the big names.

Agree and he's married to an Aggie and has deep christian values. He's totally focused when he plays.

Good Masters but had the chance to be great. Unfortunate that Cam nor Rose could get anything going on the back 9. Scottie was the only guy to really put any pressure on but he was just too far back at the start of the day.

He had a couple of amazing par saves that looked like something you'd see in a winner's highlight reel. I think they said he didn't make a single bogey in the final 2 rounds. He just didn't score quite enough.

Love Kiz calling out how bad the CBS broadcast was. There was something weirdly off about it this year. They normally have the Masters pretty well spot on.


But also dont act like NBC is the holy grail of golf broadcasting. The backlash on Kiz will be funny during the US Open and British open when they're "playing through" while the final group is on the 18th hole on Sunday

Yessir! Super curious to hear about that and also who and how people get into Berkmans! I saw multiple walking around but didn't have guts to ask. I'm guessing either know a member or work directly with a members company (or a company that's a partner like mercedes/rolex etc).


Would love some insight from Boo regarding the volunteer process as well but basically my understanding is wait until someone retires and have to know someone in that sector where the opening is occuring.

Really fun podcast by No Laying Up this morning - one of their guys won the credential lottery and got to play the course on Monday. Talks through his whole round shot by shot.

A lot of inside jokes by these guys if you're not a regular follower, but a really fascinating watch/listen. My biggest takeaways are how good the caddies are, and just how hard the course is.
