Which is what I'd expect for 2026. But this time next year when their deals are up, I expect the Returning Player Program to have another participant or two

Looking forward to see how the fans treat Brooks at the WM. I'm guessing he will get huge cheers.

Taking your kids to the Globetrotters can be fun. That's basically what this is. Exhibition golf.

Any golf other than PGAT is better golf in person. Hell, the LPGA fan experience is light years ahead of the PGAT. The over the top absolutely no noise or movement, no contact with the players, high prices for limited access for fans is a problem for the product.

For a sport saying they want to grow the game, their tournament experience couldn't be much more detrimental in doing so with younger fans.

Is Houston a tourney Brooks can play? After all he helped with the redesign so it would be cool if he was able to play here.

In that case, perhaps someone should create an alternate league with music, grabass, and is basically a party with some golf going on. It will surely be a high attended success.

I get some of the hate for LIV, but not all of it. Like it was mentioned earlier I am one who generally just enjoys watching golf on tv. When and if I was able to find LIV on tv I would tune in and watch. Golf is golf even if they are wearing shorts and music is pumping on the course.

I'll also add that we went with the kids when they were in Houston and the fan experience was so much better family wise than the PGAT. My kids could run around and play and I wasn't near as worried about them making too much noise or being a distraction like I would when the PGAT comes to town. While some can take that as a good or bad thing it was nice for us as a family with young kids exposing them to good golf. And guess what my kids (boy/girl 8 year old twins) LOVE golf. So I will take that as a win.

FWIW I am one who does wish the tours would combine so we can see Bryson, Terrel, etc play more with the PGAT guys. However, I understand why they left ($) and I will continue to watch both tours on tv. It's okay despite what some perceive to watch both tours and enjoy both golf leagues.

We took our kids too and had a blast. The players were so engaging with my kids, something Ive never experienced at a PGAT event. That said, Im all for each player deciding what he thinks is best for himself and his family.

It's not a signature event so he should be able to. He's also buddies with Crane (that's why he was tabbed as the player consult on the redesign) so he would be an obvious potential sponsor's exemption if he isn't otherwise qualified.

I'll be interested to see how busy his schedule is. He said he was having some knee issues on the back half of last year too.

As I understand it, as part of the agreement, he agreed to play a minimum of 15 events. Considering he's not currently eligible to play any signature events, he's gonna have to tee it up in quite a few of these non-signature ones (that's assuming he doesn't play his way into any signature events).

That's 15 outside of the majors correct? Just regular full field events?

So assuming 15 non majors and no signatures unless he earns his way there, and for this exercise let's say he doesn't...

Farmers
WM
Puerto Rico
Players
Valspar
Texas Children's Houston
Valero
Zurich
Myrtle Beach
Byron Nelson
Schwab
RBC Canadian
Deere
Scottish
ISCO
3M
Rocket
Wyndham

The 15 I bolded would be the ones I think he plays. Maybe he swaps Zurich team out for Myrtle Beach. I also think the majors will count towards the events, so he can reduce the above down to 11. If he wins and gets into signatures then he can switch it up even more.

I presume so since those aren't PGAT events, but that's just a guess.

I got a chuckle out of this. Wyndham is one guy LIV can take and you won't hear me complain at all.

LOL, suck it Wyndham. He was also gone for 3 and a half years, not one and a half. I like having someone like Clark to root against.

This is what the PGAT needs

Now start pairing Clark with Brooks, every single Thur/Fri.

That would be awesome. And Brooks should constantly offer him waters, bananas, etc. on the course while saying "don't worry. It's on me."

Who needs Fat Pat back when we have a country club pr*ck like Wyndham? Will never forget him getting away with that choke job 50 yard slice on 18 and that dumb selection of a US Open venue bailing his ass out

Not to stick up for Wyndham (I don't care for him) but he also said some positive stuff about Brooks coming back. I listened to that interview and he acknowledged that it was good for the PGA and also that the purses have gotten higher since the whole LIV thing. He said he was basically torn on how he feels about the whole deal.

I think AK summed it up well for Wyndham and anyone else wondering about the situation

Don't disagree about Clark personally.

But don't blame him for hitting a shot the USGA gave him. He hit the shot he needed to based on the setup. Blame the USGA.
