My son (12) has just started playing w/ me and is really hooked. Would like to get him set up w/ some lessons while the interest is there. He did a First Tee sesh at Memorial when he was younger, and I'll probably sign him up for the winter class because it's inexpensive and easy. But would like to get him some 1-on-1 if anyone has a rec for someone good w/ beginners. We are in Bellaire, so Memorial/Sharpstown/Braeburn type locations are ideal. Will keep hitting the range and course in the meantime.

Check out GolfSmart on Memorial Drive near Dairy Ashford. It's an indoor teaching center with older coaches that work a lot with juniors. Schedule a lesson and see if it's a good fit for your son. They are open 7 Days a week, limited hours on weekends but you won't have to worry about the weather. Also can sign up to use the facility to practice. They would be a great start for your son to learn the basics.

Also... check out Brian Smith. Little bit of a drive for you as he's in Cypress but worth it. Really good dude and you hit from cover with monitors so rain not an issue.

Precision Golf in Spring, ask for Trevor or Major

Precision Golf is the best club fitter in Houston. I don't think they give lessons, they're too busy with just doing fittings. Also, Major is no longer working there.
