That's just stupid! I dearly love golf but no course is worth that…well Augusta is but I don't see that happening either!

We are going to Airbnb it. BD lodging is sold out.

So we are the "non resort" guests. I believe there is an imbalance between the # of golf courses (tee times) vs lodging availabilities. Not enough rooms.

# of beds are finite. But # of tee times change throghout the season based on the sunrise/sunset times and as we are heading there right before the summer solstice.

I guess they need to build more lodges?

I've got a bunch of guys I would front. But I also have a few buddies that would need to give me money upfront. Notorious for bailing on things.

I've gotten flack from the wife for "playing bank" as the booker for our annual golf trip.

I'll sub in if needed. Just need 2 hours notice to get there by car.

I pretty much don't go at peak time unless I can get my company to pay for it. We hit it up quite a bit in the winter when there's a break of good weather.

I just told her that I get a lot of credit card points for future trips booking 8 guys going to Scotland.

She was appalled when I said I was owed like $20k for Scotland tee times haha. Don't tell her about this years trip I booked cause those Venmo's haven't been sent.

It's a good time to go! The courses play quite a bit different too with the wind shift in the winter time.

Usually we can at least get on Old Mac or Trails pretty easily since they are the least popular.

Yes, at Bandon your second round of the day is half off. What is listed is the "replay rate".

I started going to Bandon in 2000. And about every 4 years since. Did Bandon in 2019 and 2021. I live 4.5 hours from there in Northern Cal though I work in Virginia right now. This trip is with Virginia buddies and only one guy has been. So somehow I got tasked with setting it up.

Just got back from 4 rounds there last week. It was my first time and wow, what an experience. Dodged the weather for the most part and had a hell of a trip. We had 8 and stayed on the resort. Weather can be dodgy, but prices are significantly cheaper in the Fall. After the time changes makes two rounds tough.

Day 1 - Sheep Ranch
Day 2 - Bandon Dunes / Bandon Trails (had to basically sprint the last three holes to finish...it was pitch black on 18).
Day 3 - Pacific Dunes

Ask for Lars Malinen as a caddie. You'll thank me later. His reads were sick. Awesome dude from Finland and he honestly made it so enjoyable for us.

I was there early September. Played all the course and stayed for 4 nights. Think the total trip ran me about 6k. Including about $1200 worth of gear.
