Mostly interested to see Maridoe, cheap tickets, and kids under 12 get in free - so trying to fit this into my weekend.

Shotgun tee times start at 11:15am - what is a good estimate of how long play will last? I free up in the afternoon but wonder if it will be worth going for just a portion of it.

Went today and it was incredible. Course conditions were almost US open level. Due to the heat most of the crowds were in the temporary tents/bleachers so you could walk up to any player and group easily.

If you want the free shuttle than the parking lot for that is in Irving but that would only make sense if you lived on the Tarrant County side of town.

Dallas/Collin County you either pay ahead of time for parking in which the nearby middle school/baseball fields are the lots, park a few miles away and uber in, or park just far enough away from the traffic police but still close enough to walk.

It was fun out there yesterday. I was in the Birdie Shack party tent area. Loud rap music most of the time which was interesting since it was right between two tee boxes. Crowds walking were not too big so you could get close to the action reasonably easy - part of that was because it was super hot.
I Ubered, drop off was easy, still a decent walk. Took close to 40 minutes for my Uber to get out of there. Overall a lot less golfers and people than a normal event and with the shotgun start it goes by pretty quick.

I think Maridoe is 165k to join.

It was an old Jewish club that shut down and was reopened by a big money guy that just wanted to do what he wants with an endless budget.

Most of the other high end clubs in town have long wait lists with plenty of networking/recommendations required to join.

I saw that. If I had to sum it up, it came off as a well run but very lightly attended party with golf going on in the background.

I don't ever see LIV amounting to much in the US, but overseas is where I see their angle to generate more interest and revenue. We just don't have the appetite for a 2nd league in this country in any sport.

At least the one in Dallas was probably a tad cooler. Whatever dumbass thought it would be a good idea to have a golf tourney in Houston in June seriously needs their head examined. Even having one anywhere in Texas in September is a silly idea. Any tourney hosted in Texas needs to only happen from October-April

the guys running it live in Saudi. Texas in the summer seems like the winter to them

TV wise it's not but in person I was actually stunned how nice it looked. This is coming from someone whose been fortunate enough to play Northwood and Royals Oaks so it's not like I'm comparing it to Los Rios or Duck Creek.

There were several people passing out from heat exhaustion at the Houston event. They need to fire whatever idiot is booking these events. No wonder they have such a small turnout
