134 yd 8 iron for hole in one in 8th grade #5 at Timarron CC

144 yard shot on #3 at Timarron
Was arguing with my dad saying it's a hard PW and him telling me it's an easy 9. I hit hard PW and was a few yards short of pin. Dad says, drop another and hit the soft 9. Dropped another and freakin made it...smh

The farthest I've ever holed out in golf was from about 120 yards out on a par 4.

It was one of those rare shots where everything lined up perfectlythe swing felt smooth, the ball flight looked good, and then it dropped right into the cup.

Definitely a shot I won't forget anytime soon!

Longest: 45 yards for bird clear creek in Pearland

Most in a round: 3. Still shot in mid-80s because, ya know, I suck.

179 for an ace, 84 feet on a putt.

The putt was hilarious as it was a match in which my buddy stuck it to 4 feet, and I barely hit the farthest side of a large green. Then, I just smacked it over and huge up and down ridge, to watch it drop. He then missed the putt.

That's one of those hilarious experiences that gets repeated almost every time yall take a golf trip and are sitting around having drinks.

Depending on your group the story might even evolve into him lipping out a tap in.

I've holed out from 150 several times. The best is when I caught up with 8 HS kids playing as a group. They let me play through. I stepped up to my shot and holed it out from 150. Much better than the shank I would usually hit when someone lets me play through.

139yd, PW, deuce on Gulf Winds #12. Kept the ball and my wife got me a display for it with all the details. It's my only eagle. I've missed a dozen or so eagle putts on par 5's....

210 for eagle on a par 5 after I hit a tree on my second shot
160 on par 4
Can't remember the ones from my 20s but there where a few.

215 with a 2i on #18 at the old layout TAMU in an AGC tourney. I needed 79 to advance and needed to birdie the 480 yd par 4 for a 79. Eagled it to advance only to blow up and shoot 85 the next day to bomb in my flight.

I too have holed out dozens of times from lessor yardages, including a wedge from 105 on #5 for eagle and a 9i from 140 on #16 for eagle at the old Bryan Muni in an API tourney, and still do not have a hole in one after 30 years of playing.

Hole in one's are rare and hard to get.

205 yards. Par 3 13th at Hackberry Creek CC. The pin was tucked in the front left guarded by a huge trap. I attempted to draw a 4 iron from the middle of the green and move it closer towards the hole. In reality I bladed a pulled fade, hit the front bank and rolled in for the second ace of my life.

I know we're fighting the math here...you only get 3 or 4 chances a round at a hole in one, but 14 or 15 chances at holing out, so there's that. But...teeing it up, speaking for myself, makes a big difference in my shot quality, so you'd think that would improve the odds. Still no hole in one for me either.

120 yards with a PW on a par 4 at Landa Park.

This is my only hole-out over 20-30 yards, and it came at twilight AFTER the maintenance cart had come by to pull all the pins for the evening. I'm convinced had the flag still been in the hole, it wouldn't have happened.

Unless I am in the rough or a bare spot, or some other anomaly, teeing it up doesn't really affect me too much. I never tee it up on par 3's unless the turf is suspect. But you're 100% correct on the math, there aren't that many opportunities to make a one on a golf course.

2 holes in one. First was 144 yards. The second was approximately 160. " Many" holed shots from less than 60 yards and in. I've played quite a bit of golf.

Funny thing I just saw this today. Just holed out at 126 yards hole 3 at The Dominion golf course today for Eagle. I have also holed out 146 yards La Cantera hole 14 birdie and 152 yards for par hole 2 Cedar creek(hate that course!)

Serious reply - about 160 on the old campus course layout # 4. Circa 1991ish.

lol - right at 100 yards for birdie…..on a 180 yard par 3. Bladed my tee shot straight down the hill on #4 at Highland Pines and then hit a 56 deg 10 ft short and it rolled in and my buddies went nuts. I couldn't see it as you're in gully from where I was.

Group behind us had just rolled and up and I get a nice applause and clap.

About 180 yards out on a par 4. Used a 3 hybrid. My only eagle. I was frustrated with my driving that day and hit a 3 wood off the tee. Way back from where I normally would be on the hole so I picked the 3 hybrid. Shot was a low shot landing short of the green and rolled in. After I hit it, I was discussing with my playing partner. He thought the ball had rolled past the pin and I thought it might be in. A great feeling walking on the green and seeing the ball in the hole.
