I'm interested in buying a LAB DF3 Putter. Does anyone know of a shop in the Houston area that can custom fit. The LAB website offers an online fitting but if I'm going to spend that much money, I want to make sure my lie and length and head weight specs are spot on. Also, I'd like to get my hands on all of the varying grips . The website lists Club Champion and PGA Superstore as local fitters. Looking for recommendations.

I just went to Club Champion at 10 and Gessner area and bought a new LAB putter. They have all the models and different grips, etc. They had a special where you get the putter fitting for $50 (usually $125). Wait time is about 6-8 weeks for the putter.

Appreciate the feedback. Did they have the adjustable club that dials in your lie angle and length? I've seen YouTube videos that have the adjustable club for fittings, wasn't sure if that was something that is no longer used. What model and grip did you go with? Also, how did you get the discount, I don't see anything on their website.

Yes, they have the manually adjusted lie putter. see specs below. I liked the DF3 the best as I am used to a large mallet putter. And like the circle ball picker upper insert. I'm lazy so like this feature to pick up balls.

Custom DF3 Silver Head Color. Standard
Style. BGT One Shaft 34.5" Length.
63* Lie. 3.0 Texture Grip. "Q" Alignment Line.
Heavy Head.

I'll share a pic when i get it. My fitter contact below.

Just tell him I sent you in and ask about the discount.

Impact Precision in Spring. They have LAB putter and would trust them to fit you. They also have every other putter conceived that's currently on the market. They also will not try to sell you just to sell you.

I tried to buy a new driver from them and they wouldn't let me. Just had me change the shaft. Good people and would endorse for anything golf fitting related.

Great info, I definitely want to be fitted properly with the adjustable putter. I'm locked in on buying a DF3, I putted with a stock DF3 several times. Sad to say but the ball pick up circle is a hard yes for me too

LAB website search tool map for local fitters needs work. I didn't know that they fit for LAB Putters. I've been there a few times to get fitted for irons, wedges and hybrids. The guy that always fitted me is not there anymore. I'll call the shop and see what's up. I highly recommend Impact Precision.

I called Impact Precision and they do have the adjustable fitting putter. I decided to go to PGA Superstore because the fitting was free with purchase. I already decided that I was buying the DF3 so I just needed ti get my length and lie angle confirmed. I used the money that I saved on the free fitting and ordered the upgraded shaft.

What little I know of LAB putters is that you need to somewhat change your stroke to really make it work. How true is that?

I've been interested in one, but potentially a broomstick. Now the issue is I travel a lot with my clubs and I know a broomstick isn't really travel friendly. Most people seem to say if you have one, then you should just have a 2nd putter to take when you ship your clubs.

I can certainly continue to travel with my current putter, but is it going to be a mess switching between a LAB putter and a non LAB putter?

I have a friend who has a standard DF3 that I borrowed to practice putting with it for a week. I seemed to push everything right. Later on he explained to me that the forward press grip requires that you set up your stance/ball position differently. Basically the putter grip/shaft needs to be in the center of your body and the putter head is closer to your front foot due to the offset of the grip. Once I get the my DF3, I will commit a year to it, my putting is currently dismal so I need to be patient with the new putter. Plus it's so expensive, I need to make it work

I finally received my DF3, took three weeks to make and another five days to get delivered. It took my 30 mins to finally make a putt. I had the ball position too in the middle of my stance. Once I watched some YouTube videos and played with a forward ball position everything clicked. It's a very stable putter but you have to make sure that you get the correct lie angle and length of shaft. I initially cried paying. $715 for the LAB but I'm committed to playing it for a year.

I don't know I hit one at PGA Superstore and made everything I looked at. I had to do a lot of self talk to not walk out with it.

Did this at Golf Galaxy the other day. They must have it funneled towards the hole.
