I want to say there was a thread about this a long while ago.
Dude would go to tournaments at clubs and act like he was playing but steal from people before the round.

This guy got caught doing just that in Florida recently

That happened to my brother at a golf tournament. He checked in then put his bag on the cart. He put his wallet and keys in the bag, then grabbed a couple of clubs and walked to the range. Some dude grabbed his wallet and headed for San Antonio. He bought a driver and a set of clubs at a golf store. He then went to a jewelry store and tried to purchase $1,200 worth of stuff. But my brother saw the notifications on his phone and called the credit card company.

Ever since then, we always keep our wallets on us when we warm up.

This is why I don't mess with people on the golf course. Nowadays, you just have to assume that everybody is carrying.

Guy has been slicing his drives and missing 3-footers all day. Already lost 6 Titleist Pro V1s. Not someone you want to get mad at you with a gun in his Taylormade bag.

Nah, that's Keeton Park.

I took a customer out to Tenison once years ago and he came strapped because he had been robbed on a tee box there several years prior. That day we just so happened to watch a bum swimming (bathing?) in one of the small ponds.
