How low of a score do you think is reasonable for four good players to get?

Depends on your definition of 'reasonable'…I'll assume 10 handicaps for all. I'm calling BS under 61.

I would expect them to shoot around 65.

Was in a scramble tournament on Thursday. You could buy mulligans and one hole with a long drive guy you could donate and use his drive. Some team claimed to shoot a 48, just not even possible in my opinion. There were a few 51s. And even those I really question if these people know the real rules. A mulligan doesn't mean an auto freebie, you still have to hit a shot etc. I still don't believe those scores. It was a fundraiser so not a big deal but I hate cheaters.

Depends upon tees. Wedges vs 7 irons matters.

I was probably the best player on our team and I'm not even keeping score most of the time these days. I'm probably a 15ish? One other guy was about my level and the other two I think we used a combined four or five shots. And we had 7 birdies.

Winning score was -20. Some were calling BS and I really don't think so. All the par 5s are gettable, one easily drivable par 4, another couple that a big hitter could reach with a good drive, no super tough holes out there.

I think it'd take a good team but I don't see it being impossible. You could also do it by cheating and I have no idea if those guys were honest. Just don't think it's impossible.

We played a 4 man at Miramont from one tee up with 2 college golfers, 1 long drive guy, and another at a 10 handicap. Shot -21 with 2 chip-ins from barely off the green. If the putts are rolling in it's doable especially if the par 4's are short.

I used to read all these scramble threads and think scores like 58-60 were completely insane. Never having played one myself.

Now I've played in four 4 man scrambles. Always on teams of 15-20 handicaps, and I'm amazed at how easy it is to shoot 68 or better. Even with some real garbage players like myself.

I would expect 4 low single digit handicaps to go 18 or 20 most of the time.

The one time I've played in a scramble with 4 single digits we were -10 thru 9 and got rained out. We never even got to the 3rd putter. It was at Longwood where the 5's were gettable. We hadn't even played any of the driveable par 4's to that point.

Anything better than -16 and I start to raise an eyebrow unless the par 3s are 160 or shorter.

Two plus handicaps can shoot -12 to -16 in a two man scramble depending on the course and how they play. -20 is definitely doable in a 4 man if it's a good team. Most people just don't realize how low good players can go in a scramble setting.

It's all about a long drive and hitting several long putts to shoot in the -15 or lower range. And let's be honest, the winners typically go well beyond the allotted number of Mulligans on the greens.

Kim iL Jong taught me how to play, so my 19 that I turned in was completely legitimate. If my teammates were of any value, we would have had an 18. -54 is completely reasonable.

The most recent 4-man scramble I played we had a 5, a 9, an 11 and about a 19 handicap and we went 5-under on a very difficult course. Granted, it was bogey and 2-putt max for pace of play but I'm not sure either of those came into play for us anyway. Maybe once.

I imagine if you had a group of 4 that were all around a 2-4 handicap, then it wouldn't be out of the question to average birdie.
