80 mph swing speed 7 iron. Senior.

Senior flex? Graphite?

Price is no issue.

Just starting to play again after 20 year hiatus.

I was thinking maybe Ping G430.

Also need another bag. Recs? I will ride most of the time.

Not sure where you're located, but club fittings are usually running $50-100 at the big name stores depending on what deal you can find. I'd start there to see what you like, swing some different shaft weights, etc.

I have used Golftec recently for my fitting and had a good experience. Surprised with the results, as the irons I hit the best would not have been my first choice prior to that

Im guessing youre looking more at game improvement irons? I actually just rented some Titelist T300 for a round while I was in cancun. They actually felt pretty amazing. Coming from a golfer who plays with Taylormade P790's and is not a big fan of titleist in general.

Ping irons are always a safe bet. Titleist T350s. PXG XP's Callaway AI irons. Taylormade QI's

I always recommend spending the hour to get fitted if you have a facility nearby regardless of your skill level. Even if your swing is inconsistent, you will find your favorite irons for look and feel. It takes a lot of the guess-work out of the process.

Logos Stick,

I have some information that would help you. Too long to type b/c TLDR regarding my 12+ years hiatus and don't want to "wall of text" others on this board. You don't have a way to PM you b/c not a "member".

We need to find a way to hook up on the board and talk.

Can you post another contact method? Or time you will/board and we can do so?

Been slowly migrating over to PXG after getting fitted for their newest irons. Everyone that has hit them gushes over their feel and weight. Bunch of different price points too and they have a hybrid iron line (0211 Z) if that's more your speed. Fitting is free if you purchase their clubs. They get built and mailed to you within a week of fitting.

Got fitted a month ago in OKC. Because of my stance, I only had 2 options. Ping G430, or T300. I hit them both the exact same, within 1 yard distance between the two. Pings are a little noisier, and have kind of a thwacking sound on contact, but not so much that it caused me to dislike them. Pings were also $300 cheaper for the set. I went with Pings and have enjoyed them. I know everyone hits differently, and has different preferences. Just my .02c

7 iron swing speed of 80 would be fine with regular flex shafts if you haven't played in 20 years you may pick up a bit of speed as your technique comes back.

I agree fittings are great - but that usually directs you to a brand new set of clubs - and they are dang expensive esp with graphite shafts.

I'll take the opposite side of the coin and suggest finding a used set of any name brand with regular flex graphite shafts at regular length. I did a quick look on ebay and you will find lots of sets that fit this bill for under $200 that are good equipment. Buy a set, a pack of 6 lessons somewhere to get you on the right track vs developing a bunch of bad habits by just going to the range and beating balls wrongly. After a set of lessons, some practice and some play then you'll be ready to go get fit and drop some coin on the latest tech.

If you get fit upfront, then go take a lesson and the pro makes some needed changes - you could need lie adjustment and maybe even different shafts if your improving swing develops more power/speed.

Whatever you decide - welcome back to the game! Have fun!!
