As a reminder: In the championship finals, all 30 teams and six individuals will complete 54 holes of stroke play. Following 54 holes of competition, the top 15 teams along with the top nine individuals will advance for one additional day of stroke play to determine the top eight teams for match-play competition and the 72-hole stroke-play individual champion. The top eight teams after 72 holes of play will be placed into match play brackets.

I wish the NCAA had stayed at Grayhawk. That course has some great holes for match play events, including a short par 4 on the back nine (a great risk/reward hole) and the outstanding par 5 18th hole. Wonder if the La Costa offer was too good to ignore or if Grayhawk didn't want to tie up one of their courses for 2 weeks (Women's championship followed by Men's championship)?

Does weather play a factor in moving it to Carlsbad? It's a pretty grueling championship as noted a couple posts above.

I don't recall any weather delays or disruptions in recent years. The average precipitation for Scottsdale in May is .19 inches of rain for the entire month (it's the second lowest precip during the year after June average of .07 inches.) I suspect Grayhawk felt it was an unacceptable revenue hit or La Costa made an offer the NCAA could not refuse.

Her third straight 68 gives her a nice lead (several players still on the course) heading into the final round. Another good day for the team to give them a 1 stroke lead.

Eight.

We are in second place. One behind the leader and 23 shots clear of 9th.

Match play assured but a little disappointing to shoot like this in the final round just like in the regional.
